The telecom division has gotten about Rs 5,000 crore from Reliance Jio , Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) in permit expense and range utilization charges for the JanuaryMarch quarter.
"The three telcos have made their installments and there has been no postponement, which is a decent sign. The January-March quarter contribution need to come in by March 25. On the off chance that there is a little equilibrium, that is paid before the finish of March since it is the monetary year shutting," said an industry leader mindful of the turn of events.
Desperate Vi had deferred its installment in the previous quarters, however has paid on time this time around.
In the most recent arrangement of levy, each circle makes its installments relying upon the income for the three months and albeit the last sum is yet to be accumulated by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the installments are like what telcos paid last quarter.
As per quantities of the last quarter finished December 31, Airtel had paid around Rs 1600 crore, Jio about Rs 2000 crore and Vi paid Rs 1000 crore. The three didn't react to ET's questions. The LF and SuC that telcos pay is 8% and 3%-5% of their changed gross income (AGR), separately.
The installments come when Airtel and Vi have mammoth changed gross income (AGR) contribution of about Rs 26,000 crore and Rs 50,400 crore, individually, to pay to the DoT, yet spread over a time of 10 years.
The two have documented petitions in the Supreme Court that there were blunders in DoT's estimations, a request that the peak court is yet to hear.
